How to prepare (prep) your quilt top for services – Additional costs will be applied if necessary . After you prepare your quilt top it's ready for longarm services . We will be happy to do the preparation work for you. If we have to perform any preparations to your quilt top, service fees will apply.
Preparations :
- Identify the Top of your Quilt with a safety pin. It is necessary for quilt design placement purposes.
- All Quilt top corners should be squared, even cut edges and no open or fraying seams (A $25.00 service fee to trim or stabilize seams)
- Backing must be 8 inches wider on all four sides than the Quilt top, (Adding fabric to meet the required 8 inches on all sides $15.00 per seam)
- Your Packaged Batting: You are to pre-cut Batting 6 inches wider on all four sides than the quilt top (service fee to cut packaged batting $25.00). If Quilter provides batting no fee will apply for batting prep services.
- Starch and Press the quilt top and backing layers (A service fee for pressing will be applied for each layer $15 misc. size, $25 lap, $35 twin, $45 queen, $65 king).
- Clip and remove all stray threads ($15.00 per ½ hour service fee will apply for clipping threads) $15.00 minimum.
- Thread color: For best results thread color and Backing fabric should match the background colors used in the quilt top.($18.00 fee for Quilters thread on hand ) (Special order of threads, market price plus $15 service fees for shipping/handling and taxes)
You Bring the Binding- cut a 2 1/4" to 2½” wide strip, measure the perimeter of the quilt and add 20 inches, press in half. Binding will be applied by machine to quilt top only appx. $0.185 per linear inch - Do not baste or pin the layers of the quilt sandwich.
- Be mindful that if puckers or fullness have been pieced in or wavy borders exist, that cannot be quilted out.
- Special order quilt designs will be at Market price, quilter keeps designs unless other agreement.

You supply the clean/washed t-shirts we create the cherished keepsake quilt $25.00 per T-shirts
- You provide the backing fabric and t-shirts minimum 5 t-shirts or 9+ t-shirts to make that keepsake quilt top.

We schedule appointments most days, including weekends from 10am to 3pm.
We will consult with you regarding thread color, stitching pattern, pattern size, and batting by appointment only

Next Steps
- Deliver all items in a protective closable bag for protection.
- 50% deposit, non refundable at quilt drop off . Deposit is due prior to work commencement.
